Free and Firm Foundations

Imagine sinking your toes into sand, or swinging your feet into water. Those sensations are so visceral, evoking the connection of our humble selves with the great wide world. Our toes, feet and ankles lead the way up our legs through our powerful root system. Let's get ourselves rooted in a healthy way for free and supported movement all through the body. When we operate from a steady foundation, in mind and body, we can expect to receive support for overworked joints, tension and muscles. We'll journey together to find the "right" effort; not too much, not too little, opening a path to our most solid, supportive foundation. Together, let's marvel at the freedom we can find when we slow it down and take the time to listen to the language our body is speaking and connecting with the rhythm of earth, breath and silence. This 90 minute class will include a 30 minute yoga nidra. Yoga nidra or yogic sleep has long been practiced to connect ourselves to the unconscious mind and release deep patterns of thought or habit that do not serve our evolving consciousness.

Have a chair and tennis ball available for the foundation practice and have a light blanket and pillow available for the Nidra.
